  • In the future, noboby will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
  • Nowadays, thanks to the development of technology, people can read novels and articles in many ways. It is said that nobody will purchase printed newspapers or books in the future as everything can be read for free online. However, I disagree with this statement for the following reasons.
  • People will still be purchasing paper books and newspapers even if all the paper materials are digitalised. This is because electronic devices can cause negative health problems, especially when they are used for a long time. Harmful lights from the screen stimulate the human eye and brain. As a result, people often suffer from sleep disorders and tiredness when they frequently read online materials. I have experienced this when I used to read novels on a tablet regularly before going to bed. I could not fall asleep easily due to the excessive exposure to blue light.
  • Another reason why digital content is highly unlikely to replace printed newspapers and books is that its free information is less reliable. Many free online articles are written by non-professional writers. These people quickly collect information on the internet without checking if they can really trust the source. People do not want to read such information when they are seeking to obtain reliable information. As long as people are happy to pay for accurate information, newspapers and books will stay in demand.
  • In conclusion, I believe that people will still be buying printed books and newspapers in the future because they are less harmful for health and more reliable than free information online.

  • In spite of the advances made in agriculture, many people around the world still go hungry. Why is this the case? What can be done about this problem?
  • There have been advances in agriculture, but hunger is still a serious global issue, especially in developing countries. In this essay, I will explain the reasons for this and suggest solutions to this problem.
  • One of the reasons why many people still suffer from hunger is that people in developing countries cannot buy modern agricultural equipment. Such machines can sometimes cost a million dollars, so companies in poorer nations cannot purchase them. This makes it extremely difficult for farmers to produce enough food. Another reason is that transportation is not good enough in developing nations. It is said that this is the cause of almost 30% of the wasted farm products. This is because fruits and vegetables go bad quickly and they need to be carried to markets as soon as possible.
  • In order to solve this problem, developed countries should provide developing nations with financial aid. Recently, the United States has started making investments in African nations. This helps them to purchase the latest farm machines to produce more and to build highways and railroads to carry a lot of food more quickly. In addition, job training should also be provided in developing countries. Advanced countries can send people and provide knowledge about how to use the equipment and how to build infrastructure. This will enable people in developing countries to produce more food and reduce hunger.
  • In conclusion, hunger is still a big issue because it is difficult to buy modern equipment and because infrastructure is poor in some countries. However, this issue can be resolved by providing financial aid and job training in developing countries.
