Cambridge Dictionary は the period during which you can stay interested or listen carefully to something と説明し、Oxford Learner's Dictionaries は the length of time for which somebody is able to concentrate on something としています。
have a short attention span(集中が続く時間が短い)のように、have と一緒に使われます。 The kids don't have a very long attention span so you have to keep them occupied.
Young children usually have short attention spans, so lessons for them need frequent changes of activity.
Some teachers worry that their students' attention spans are getting shorter.

a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention
In the attention economy, apps and websites compete for users' time, because the longer people stay on a platform, the more advertising revenue it can earn.
英語では there is no natural point at which to stop のように表せます。
Many today feel that attention spans are becoming shorter due to the prevalence of social media.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Social media platforms earn money by keeping users on their apps, so they are designed to offer a constant stream of short posts and notifications. When people are used to moving to something new every few seconds, staying focused on a single task can feel more demanding than it once did.
However, many of the same people who scroll through short videos can still watch a two-hour film or play a game for hours. This suggests that social media affects how often people are distracted more than how long they are able to concentrate.
Some children spend hours every day on their smartphones.
Why is this the case? Do you think this is a positive or a negative development?
Why is this the case?
One reason is that many apps are designed to hold users' attention for as long as possible. Features such as autoplay and infinite scroll mean that there is no natural point at which to stop, so a child who opens a video app for a few minutes can easily spend an hour on it.
If children become used to switching between short videos every few seconds, they may find it harder to stay focused on homework or a long book.
Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Because people are exposed to so many advertisements every day, they have learnt to ignore most of them. The more companies compete for consumers' attention, the less attention each individual advertisement receives.
Films and games have become easily accessible at any moment on mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
Because a film or game is always within reach, people can start playing whenever they feel slightly bored, and autoplay makes it easy to keep going late into the night.
This is partly a result of what is often called the attention economy, in which technology companies compete for users' time in order to sell advertising.
Oxford Learner's Dictionaries は the length of time for which somebody is able to concentrate on something と定義しています。have a short attention span
注目を集めたと言うなら attract a lot of attention とします。
Many today feel that attention spans are becoming shorter due to the prevalence of social media. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
ただし、読み手が意味を知らなくても論旨を追えるように、what is often called the attention economy, in which technology companies compete for users' time のように短い説明を添えておくとよいでしょう。
