Try adding ginger or chilli for a bit of a kick.

Q. Have you tried any foreign foods that you particularly liked?
Yes, Thai food. The first time I had a green curry, I was surprised at how many flavours were in one dish. It was hot, a little sweet and quite sour all at once. It was hotter than I expected, but the coconut milk made it milder, so it wasn't too much for me.
Savoury food is salty or spicy and not sweet in taste.
It has a lot of umami. 出汁そのものは、a light stock made from kelp and bonito flakes のように材料で説明できます。

Q. What kind of food do you enjoy eating most?
Savoury food, definitely. I'm not much of a dessert person. My favourite is probably a good meat pie, the kind with a rich gravy inside. If I want a snack in the evening, I'll grab some crisps or crackers rather than chocolate. Something savoury just feels more satisfying after a long day.
Cambridge Dictionary は pleasantly strong and sharp と定義しています。
The milk has gone sour.
sour
The milk has gone sour.
tangy
This yoghurt has a nice tangy taste.
tart
Green apples are quite tart.
sharp
This sauce is a bit sharp because of the lemon juice.
I like the bitterness of dark chocolate.
Bitter melon is a bit of an acquired taste. I didn't like coffee at first, but it's grown on me.

Q. Do you prefer fresh fruit or fruit juice?
Fresh fruit, mostly. A lot of juice is much sweeter than I'd like, especially the kind you buy in cartons. I actually prefer fruit that's slightly tart, like grapefruit or green apples. That sharp taste is really refreshing in the morning.
Q. Are there any traditional desserts in your country that you enjoy?
Yes, I really like wagashi, which are traditional Japanese sweets. They're usually made from rice flour and sweet bean paste. Compared with Western cakes, they're quite light because there's no butter or cream in them. So even after a big dinner, I can still manage one with a cup of green tea.
