Q. Are you comfortable lending your belongings to others?
回答例
It depends on what it is. I'm happy to lend things like books or umbrellas, but I'd rather people didn't borrow my laptop, because everything for work is on it. If a friend really needed one, I'd rather lend them my old tablet.
I'd rather people didn't borrow はほかの人の行動について、最後の I'd rather lend は自分がすることについての希望です。
Part 3
Q. At what age do you think children should be allowed to have their own mobile phone?
回答例
I don't think there's one right age for every child. Personally, though, I'd rather kids waited until they were around twelve, when most of them start secondary school. Before that, they're usually with their parents or teachers, so they don't really need one. Once they start getting to school on their own, a phone becomes more of a safety issue, and it's understandable that parents want to be able to contact them. Even then, I'd rather parents kept an eye on how much time their kids spend on social media.
Part 3 で意見を言うときは、I think children should ...
If you would rather I left anything out, please let me know.
英語
意味
If
もし
you
would rather
I
私が
left anything out
please let me know
would rather + I + left という仮定法過去の構造で、主語が you、would rather のあとの主語が I になっています。
If there's anything you'd rather I left out, please let me know.
I wish you lived closer.
