So that's why I think ...
Part 3
Q. Do you think owning a car is necessary for people living in cities?
Not really, at least not in big cities. Most cities have pretty good public transport, and parking is so expensive that a car can end up costing more than it's worth. In my case, I live in central Tokyo and I can get almost anywhere by train in under an hour. I think a car's only really useful if you've got small kids or you live on the outskirts. And so, yeah.
それなのに最後の And so, yeah.
△
... or you live on the outskirts. And so, yeah.
△
... or you live on the outskirts.
○
... or you live on the outskirts. So that's why I think, for most people in the city, a car is more of a luxury than a necessity.
Fluency and Coherence
1:So that's why I think ...
So that's why I think ...
So that's why I think ...
That's the reason why ...
That's mainly why ...
So for those reasons, I'd say ...
So that's why I think と That's the reason why That's the reason why
Q. Why do you think some people prefer attending live music events over listening to recorded music?
I think it's mostly about the atmosphere. When you're in a crowd and everyone's singing along, you feel part of something, and you just can't get that through a pair of earphones. Also, no two live shows are exactly the same, so there's a sense that you're hearing something that'll never happen again. That's the reason why people are happy to pay quite a lot for tickets, even though they could stream the same songs for free.
So that's why I think, for a lot of people, live music offers something that a recording never can.
That's the reason why ... The reason is because ...
I think that's a good example of ...
Q. Do you think getting lost can sometimes be a valuable experience?
Yes, I think it can be. A few years ago I got lost while I was walking around Lisbon, and I ended up in this tiny neighbourhood full of little cafés that weren't in any guidebook. I had one of the best meals of the whole trip there, and I'd never have found it if my phone hadn't died. I think that's a good example of how getting lost can actually take you somewhere better than where you'd planned to go.
a good example of のうしろには、名詞か how で始まる節が続きます。
That just shows that ...(体験から分かることを一般論として言う)
That's what I mean when I say ...(最初に言った考えを、体験で裏づけたことを示す)
So for me, that's what ... is all about.(その体験が自分にとってどういう意味を持つかを言う)
カードに and explain how you feel about this place. So that's why this place means so much to me.
3:So overall, I'd say ...
So overall, I'd say ...
Q. Do you think social media brings people together or drives them apart?
It can do both, really. It lets you keep in touch with friends who live overseas, which would've been much harder twenty years ago. But then you see families sitting at the same table, all staring at their phones and barely talking to each other. So overall, I'd say it brings people together when they're far apart, but it can push them apart when they're actually in the same room.
So I guess it depends. it depends on how people use it
4:So yeah, I'd say ...
△
... or you live on the outskirts. And so, yeah.so yeah
○
... or you live on the outskirts. So yeah, I'd say for most people in the city, a car is more of a luxury than a necessity.
5:I think we'll see more of that in the future.
Q. How has the way people shop changed in recent years?
It's changed a lot. Most people I know buy almost everything online now, even groceries, which would've seemed strange ten years ago. It's just so convenient, and you can compare prices in a few seconds. A lot of the small shops near where I live have actually closed down. So I think we'll see even more of that in the future, especially as deliveries get faster and cheaper.
I think we'll see more of that in the future.
I can only see that increasing.
I don't think that's going to change any time soon.
I wouldn't be surprised if that changed in the next few years.
6:That's why I think ... should ...
Q. What can be done to encourage young people to eat more healthily?
I think the biggest problem is that a lot of young people never really learn how to cook. When you're living on your own for the first time, it's much easier to grab some instant noodles or order a pizza than to make something from scratch. And junk food's often cheaper, too. That's why I think schools should teach basic cooking skills, so that kids leave home knowing how to make a few simple, healthy meals.
So that's why I think ...
So I think the best way to deal with this is to ...(解決策を1つに絞って言う)
So if it were up to me, I'd ...(自分ならどうするかで締める)
So that's why I think
Q. Do you think you walk enough?
△
Probably not. I work from home most days, so I hardly leave the flat. So that's why I think I don't walk enough.1文目の Probably not.
○
Probably not. I work from home most days, so some days I barely leave the flat at all.
