I'm from Kyoto, which is in western Japan. It's a fairly big city, but the pace of life is quite relaxed. It's best known for its old temples, so we get a lot of visitors all year round.
I'm from a small town in Hokkaido, which is in the far north of Japan. It's a quiet place, and the pace of life is quite relaxed. It's best known for its seafood, so we get a lot of visitors, especially in winter.
which is in ...、the pace of life is ...、It's best known for ...

Yes, I've lived there all my life./No, I moved away for university, and I go back once or twice a year.
It's not really known for anything in particular.(とくに何かで知られているわけではありません)と言ってから、It has everything you need.(必要なものは何でもそろっています)のように暮らしやすさの話を続ければ、それで十分です。 I'm not sure I would
I'm from Tokyo, but the part I grew up in is a quiet residential area, quite far from the centre.
Has your hometown changed a lot since you were a child? のように変化を聞かれたら、has been redeveloped、have closed のような現在完了と、than it used to be、than there used to be のような比較が中心になります。
What do you like most ...? と聞かれても、Would you recommend ...?
I'm from a mid-sized city in western Japan, about an hour from Osaka by train. It's not a place many tourists would know, but it has everything you need, and the pace of life is much slower than in the big cities. Most of my family still live there.
Q. What do you like most about your hometown?
Probably how easy it is to live there. The centre is small enough to get around by bike, and you're never far from the mountains or the sea. I didn't really appreciate that when I was younger, but after a few years in Tokyo I miss it quite a lot.
Q. Has your hometown changed a lot since you were a child?
Yes, quite a lot. The area around the station has been redeveloped, so there are new apartment blocks and a big shopping centre. On the other hand, many of the small family-run shops I knew as a child have closed, which is a bit sad. It feels more convenient but less personal.
Q. Would you recommend your hometown as a place for tourists to visit?
To be honest, I'm not sure I would. There aren't many famous sights, so a tourist might run out of things to do after a day. But if someone wanted to see what everyday life in Japan is like, away from the crowds, it would be a good place to spend a weekend.
hometown という語は、Cambridge Dictionary では the town or city that a person is from, especially the one in which they were born and lived while they were young、Oxford Learner's Dictionaries では the place where you were born or lived as a child と説明されています。

It's not really known for anything in particular. It has everything you need.
大きさは a mid-sized city や a fairly small town のような大まかな言い方で伝わります。
It's best known for its old temples.
I'm from Tokyo, but the part I grew up in is a quiet residential area.
I'm originally from Fukuoka, but I've been living in Melbourne for the past eight years.
I grew up in two places. I'll talk about Fukuoka, since that's where I grew up.
