Tokyo has developed very quickly.
Oxford Learner's Dictionaries「Which Word? fast / quick / rapid」(2026
Rapid is most commonly used to describe the speed at which something changes. It is not used to describe the speed at which something moves or is done: a rapid train / We had a rapid coffee.
Cambridge Dictionary は rapidly を in a fast or sudden way と説明し、次のような例文を載せています。
Things are changing very rapidly.
The country's oil reserves are rapidly declining.
a rapidly growing industrial city
The wind power industry is expanding rapidly.
Tokyo has developed very rapidly.

1つは at a fast speed(速いスピードで)、もう1つは after only a very short time(ほんの短い時間のあとで、すぐに)です。
We'll have to walk quickly to get there on time.
He replied very quickly.
He quickly realized that she wasn't telling the truth.
Oxford の注記でも、quick は something that is done in a short time or without delay(短い時間で、または遅れなく行われること)に使われると説明されています。
I got used to living alone quite quickly.
△
I got used to living alone quite rapidly.
○
I usually reply to messages quickly.
△
I usually reply to messages rapidly.
Cambridge Dictionary が載せているコーパスの例文にも、the number of new cases declined quickly(新たな患者の数はすぐに減った)という文があります。
I had a quick lunch.(昼ごはんをさっと済ませた)や We had a rapid coffee.
Has your hometown changed much in recent years?
Q. Has your hometown changed much in recent years?
Yes, quite a lot. The area around the station has changed rapidly over the past ten years. There used to be lots of small family-run shops, but now it's mostly chain stores and new apartment buildings.
Yes, I do. I'm not very shy, so I usually get to know people quite quickly. When I started university, I made a few close friends in the first week.
Part 3:
Q. How has technology changed the way people work?
Technology is advancing so rapidly that the skills people learned at university can become out of date within a few years. As a result, many workers now have to keep learning throughout their careers.
Technology is advancing rapidly.
